Journey Through The Underworld

Styx is a high quality Feedback Delay Network (FDN) reverb structured around seven distinct acoustic environments, each named for a part of the Greek underworld. From Tainaron's intimate cave-mouth slap to Tartarus's vast, restless abyss, prepare to be transported to the very depths of Hell.

Styx is not just a static reverb though. Beyond its spatial modeling, the plugin utilizes an algorithm that actively listens and responds to the incoming audio signal. Whilst you can shape it in broad strokes with the controls, Styx is constantly reacting to how you're playing, and adapting to it.

Seven spaces, one reverb that reacts

Styx doesn't dial one reverb engine through different presets — it ships seven fixed spaces, each its own instrument. Tainaron is the intimate cave-mouth, dark and close. Asphodel is the easygoing meadow, the plugin's neutral reference. Elysian is the bright, wide-open flagship sound. Tartarus is the vast, restless abyss. Erebus is a darkness that closes in the harder you play. Lethe is hazy, sleepy oblivion. Phlegethon is explosive, aggressive fire. Pick the character you want, not a starting point to sculpt away.

The other thing that makes Styx different: it listens to itself. A handful of its controls have no knob on the panel at all — Styx reads the wet signal as it plays and moves them for you, reacting to how hard you're playing and, separately, to how abruptly. Loud and sudden aren't the same instruction, and every space responds to it a little differently.

Does Styx require an iLok or dongle?

No. Activation is handled online through a license key, with no dedicated hardware required.

What are the seven spaces?

Seven fixed reverb characters, each named for a place in the Greek underworld — from Tainaron's tight cave-mouth slap to Tartarus's vast, restless abyss. Pick the one that fits rather than sculpting a general-purpose reverb toward it.

Why do some controls move on their own?

By design. A few controls have no knob on the panel because Styx reads the wet signal as you play and moves them for you — how hard, and how suddenly. It's part of what gives each space its character.

Does Styx add latency?

A small, fixed amount that depends on the Quality mode (HQ or LL) — changing modes mid-project shifts it, which is why Quality isn't automatable. Live tracking through Styx isn't recommended in either mode.

How many machines can I activate it on?

Up to 3 devices per license. Moving to a new machine is free: deactivate on the old one and activate on the new one, with a 14-day cooldown before that license can go back on the device you removed it from.

Is there a demo version?

Yes, a free 7-day trial with full audio functionality. Try it in a real session before you buy.
